Introduction

The theme of this year´s conference is identifying barriers of lifelong learning and their removal.

The relevance of this theme is influenced by existing and sometimes also deepening problems accompanied implementation of lifelong learning principles at national, regional as well as local level. The speeches delivered by experts from various countries will deal especially with the main barriers of lifelong learning development. The presentations of speakers will also provide participants with information on current ways how to support the lifelong learning development as well as with experience gained during elimination of barriers of lifelong learning through various initiatives, programmes, projects and measures.

About 65 experts from countries of the Central European Initiative (CEI) including Czech Republic will participate in the conference. The language of the conference is English with simultaneous interpretation into Czech. The conference is funded by the CEI Cooperation Fund and by the hosting country (Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic). Their contributions cover costs of the conference materials, refreshment during conference and introductory cultural event. The foreign participants will also receive accommodation (2 nights) free of charge and foreign participants from non-EU countries will receive reimbursement of their travel costs (up to 400 EUR).
